ABOUT HERITAGE GRASS FED BEEF
Beef cuts are packaged in easy to manage packages, wrapped in frost-free, lined butcher paper to maintain freshness. The roasts are about 2.0lbs pounds each, and the hamburger, ground and kabob/stew is approximately one pound each.
SPECIAL BEEF ORDERS AND CUSTOM BEEF CUTS
We offer a short list of custom and special beef cuts. To check availability, visit and order "Special Cuts" directly from Dennis Kelley at KELLEY BEEF
When processing an entire beef carcass, approximately 25% are steaks, 25% are roasts, 40% is ground beef, and 10% stew/kabob/cube Meat, ribs and other cuts may be included. Each individual heritage cattle is different by way of size, weight, age and breed, no 2 cattle can be processed to yield the exact amount of weights, sizes and cuts.
A RAINBOW RANCH FARMS BONUS
To maintain the tenderness, quality, nutritional properties and flavor, our beef is fresh (not dry-aged). Hand carved by professional, licensed and certified butchers.
Fresh beef allows naturally occurring enzymes to remain intact, naturally tenderizing while preserving the intense delicious flavor and retains healthy, nutritional values in the meat.
Our fresh meats are fresh chilled to perfection and places all the nutritional values, proteins, fats and enzymes in suspended animation for absolute perfection, until ready to be prepared. No sub zero deep freezing!
SPECIAL INFO Meats do not freeze at 32 degrees, water does. Meat begins to freeze at temperatures below 27 degrees.
Heritage grass fed and/or pastured/grazed beef have been shown to contain more zinc and vitamin B12 than grain-fed beef, less total fat than grain-fed beef, and greater amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid).
ABOUT GRAINS AND CATTLE
ANY and ALL grain-feeding can cause the formation of deadly gas, acidosis and improper rumen activity in the digestive tract of cattle and cause cattle serious health risks.
Grain feeding is usually, if not always, accompanied with low levels of antibiotics and digestive aids. When cattle are given the opportunity to follow a diet composed of their naturally intended grasses and foods, they are healthy.
It is true, cattle eat ANYTHING!, plastic bags, corn, chocolate, rope, "ANYTHING", this does not mean that they should be fed garbage!.
BACK ORDERS/DELAYS
sometimes we all experience back-orders. It is important that all farm members select a way to to get farm updates
Follow our blog, follow us on twitter or friend us on facebook.
Back orders are part of the whole CSA experience, thank you for your patience
Range, grass fed, pastured and heritage livestock, do not offer a predictable growing pattern
Remember lamb, beef and pork are all cut, butcher paper wrapped or vacuum sealed by professional and well experienced butchers, not meat cutters. Sometimes we are at their mercy and receive
our products according to their schedule, especially during holiday months. Expect delays during the holidays.
CHILLING/COOLING
NOTE: Meats DO NOT deep freeze at 32 degrees F, water does. Meats begin to deep freeze at temperatures below 27 degrees F.
Our meats are fresh-chilled immediately upon final packaging, prior to farm pick-up. We offer the freshest meats on today's market, guaranteed, and with NO preservatives.
If the weather is above 70 degrees, meats we will be chilled extra to ensure the safety of meat.
Rainbow Ranch Farms does not deep freeze any meats.
